Project Overview
The challenge was to design written contracts for carpenters for a small, but growing home construction company in British Columbia. Previously the carpenters worked on the basis of verbal agreements. An additional challenge was the company’s lack of a human resources expertise.
Project Deliverables
- Conduct a situation analysis, including benchmarking employment contract practices in the Canadian home building industry
- Understand the perspective of all the internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with the company’s CEO to design a new organizational framework
- Propose an action plan to implement a system of employment contracts
